GIZMO

(2006)

Producer: Riverina Theatre Company, 2006 and subsequently Nic Clarke Productions; several national tours to 2018

An adaptation of Paul Jennings’ classic children’s story.

"Something is in my pocket. Something made of steel. It is the Gizmo. It is back in my pocket even though I just threw it away. What is going on here? Am I going nuts? Or what?" Two boys have to deal with consequences. A funny and action-packed adventure for family and school audiences.

REVIEWS

“The Gizmo is a fun production that has just the right amount silliness and nonsense to make it appealing to all ages….5 out of 5 stars.” Tara Forbes-Godfrey, Glam Adelaide.

“Beloved children’s author Paul Jennings’ messages about friendship, self-respect and consequences of stealing shine in this vibrant adaptation by Verity Laughton…a wonderfully entertaining stage version of The Gizmo making me feel like I was back in my primary school library as characters vividly came to life before me

Jennifer Trojof, The Serenade Files, 2018
