As you can see from the above image, the amazing people at Affirm Press are now advertising the availability of the book of my stage adaptation of Pip Williams’ The Dictionary of Lost Words. This will be the final draft of the script which, in true theatre tradition, has been tweaked a tad (not too much!) since the last season in Melbourne in 2024. I am an inveterate re-writer – you craft a play on an audience as well as in your head and in a rehearsal room. I’m pretty happy with this final result.
I’m particularly glad that it will be available for the 2025 six-city tour of the STCSA/STC co-production directed by the also amazing Jessica Arthur. I can’t mention all six cities where the show will be presented yet as some producers have not yet released their 2025 seasons. But I can confirm that you can see it in Sydney at the Ros Packer Theatre from February 28 – March 22 and the Canberra Theatre Centre from May 15 – 24 and Wollongong from May 29 – June 7. And in between it will have to stay a mystery for just that bit longer...
